Our Wedding Day at Ancaster Mill
On October 25th, 2025, Vittorio and I celebrated our wedding at Ancaster Mill, a stunning venue surrounded by the colours of fall. With its rustic charm, on-site chapel, and the sound of the nearby waterfall, it truly felt like a dream. The changing leaves, the crackling fireplace, and the warmth of our family and friends made the day feel intimate, romantic, and full of heart.
Our wedding was very much a reflection of who we are — deeply romantic, yet full of traditional Italian elements. From the music to the food, everything was infused with a sense of nostalgia and family. It felt like an authentic blend of our roots and our love story.
As a wedding stationery and signage designer, I had the joy of designing every paper detail myself — from our invitation suite to all of the day-of materials. Stationery has always been my way of telling a story, and designing for my own wedding was something I’ll cherish forever.
Some of my favourite pieces from the day were the personalized menus, each printed with the guest’s name, and our custom escort card pockets. These were paper sleeves featuring each guest’s name and table number — and inside each one, Vittorio and I tucked a handwritten note to that guest. It was our way of greeting everyone personally before the evening even began.
This detail ended up being one of the most talked-about parts of the day. Guests were so moved reading their notes — there were tears, laughter, and so much emotion. It made everyone feel seen and appreciated before cocktail hour had even started. If you’re a couple who loves thoughtful touches, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s an incredibly meaningful way to connect with your guests, and it becomes a keepsake they’ll treasure long after your wedding day.
Beyond stationery, I also designed custom matchbooks, which were a massive hit (so much so that we ran out!), as well as fabric-wrapped signage and table numbers, which tied the whole aesthetic together. Every piece felt cohesive, intentional, and deeply personal — a reflection of my brand’s philosophy that wedding stationery isn’t just paper; it’s part of the guest experience.
One of the most special parts of the day for me was our ceremony. Our best friend officiated, which made the moment even more personal. Sharing our vows by the glow of the chapel’s fireplace felt magical — it was intimate, heartfelt, and full of meaning. Those few minutes, speaking directly to each other among the people we love most, were some of my favourite moments of my life.
Now, as both a stationery designer and a past bride, I have such a deeper understanding of how monumental the wedding day truly feels. It’s a whirlwind of emotion, beauty, and gratitude — and it’s taught me even more about the importance of designing stationery that reflects that. I understand now, more than ever, that your wedding paper goods aren’t just decor; they are a tangible part of your story.
A Final Note to Future Couples
Your wedding stationery is one of the most powerful ways to make your celebration feel personal. From invitations to place cards, menus, and signage, these are the elements your guests will interact with and remember. They can be interactive, emotional, and entirely unique to your story — a true reflection of you as a couple.
If you’re currently planning your wedding and looking to create custom, intentional stationery and signage that feels deeply personal, I’d love to help you bring your vision to life.
